What are Board's responsibilities?
  • Review information, questions, and requests from Kingstree Home Owners

  • Research projects, vendors, and community information

  • Enforce DCCR rules, guidelines, and ByLaws

  • Act as a liaison between KTRA, AMG, CMPD, and various vendors

  • Run regular BOD meetings, community meetings, violations hearings, etc.

Does the Board get paid?

No, members of Kingstree BOD are volunteers and are owners of property within the community.

The board vote is held during the annual Kingstree Community meeting.

Can the Board arrest, detain, or fine?

No, members of Kingstree BOD are residents of Charlotte Mecklenburg County, have to follow the same rules as other residents, and have identical rights as other residents.

Who qualifies to be a board member?

Total of 7 board members are elected yearly. The ideal skills needed to be a board member are:

  • Own and resides in a home in the community

  • No infractions, including being current on HOA dues

  • Availability of personal time for meetings, follow ups, etc. (up to 40hrs per month)

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills

  • Possess basic computer skills - MS Office, website functionality, mobile apps, security systems, etc.

  • Able to manage multiple community issues/projects simultaneously

  • Able to attend a minimum of 15 meetings each year

  • Able to attend community functions

  • Ability to review all scenarios as objectively as possible

  • Able to diffuse tense situations
